How to Use Our Fragrance Oil Calculator for Wax:
To use our Fragrance Oil Calculator, start by selecting your wax category from the dropdown menu. You can choose Soy Wax, Paraffin Wax, or Other Wax (like the IGI 6006). After choosing the wax category, choose the specific wax type you are using from the list.
Next, select your desired scent strength from the dropdown menu, choosing between light, medium, or strong. Please note that both the wax and the fragrance oil you use will influence the final scent throw.
Then, enter the total amount of wax you will use and choose the desired unit of measure. The calculator will display the amount of fragrance oil you need based on your chosen wax type, scent strength, and the amount of wax entered. You can then choose your desired unit of measure for the amount of fragrance oil needed in the "show fragrance weight in" section.
If you want to try different combinations or start over, click the "reset" button. This will clear all fields so you can make new selections.

How to Use Our Fragrance Oil Calculator for Our Soap & Cosmetic Bases:
Use our Fragrance Oil Calculator to accurately determine the amount of fragrance needed for our melt & pour soap and cosmetic bases. Begin by selecting your base category from the dropdown menu, choosing either Melt & Pour Soap Bases or Cosmetic Bases. Next, pick the specific base type you're using from the provided list.
Enter the total amount of your base in either g, kg, oz, or lb, and the calculator will instantly display the required amount of fragrance oil based on your selections. You can choose your desired unit of measure for the amount of fragrance oil needed in the "show fragrance weight in" section.
Please note that for the melt & pour soap bases, the combined total of your additives and fragrance oil should not exceed 2% of your base. Exceeding the recommended 2% load can lead to less desirable results.
To explore different combinations or start over, simply click the "reset" button to clear all fields and make new selections.
Not All Fragrances Are Soap Safe
While most of our fragrance oils are safe for use in making soaps, it's essential to check the IFRA certificate for each specific fragrance oil to ensure it is soap safe and to adhere to the maximum usage level. Each fragrance oil's IFRA certificate is available on its own product page under the "technical information" section. Here, you can also find the MSDS, which provides comprehensive details on ingredients, safety protocols, hazard identification, handling and storage guidelines, and other crucial safety and regulatory information.
